Question
First week of July seems to be cheaper than the 2nd week of July for hotels in San Diego even though 4th of July holiday is that week. Which week would you recommend going to avoid as much crowd as possible? I'd gladly pay a little more to avoid huge crowds.

Answer
To be honest, I"m not exactly sure.  Basically, though the weather pattern tends to improve during July and August.  During June, the beaches are subject to morning overcast or even fog, and so only by afternoon is the beach action hot.  As the beach action improves, the crowds will grow larger.  This would certainly be the case also for Seaworld, but I can't say about Legoland, where I've never been.  Cheaper prices generally means fewer tourists, so if you are avoiding crowds, the lower priced First week sounds reasonable.  The July 4th fireworks come and go pretty fast.  The fireworks over Mission Bay have been very nice in the past.
