Question
Our extended family (about 25 or so) want to camp at the beach. We all live in the SF valley/Antelope Valley area. Is there a place that has bathroom facilities and can be reserved? I don't think we can do 1st come 1st serve with this large of a group.

Hi Jil,

The good news is that there are a number of campgrounds with group areas. The bad news is that hey are most likely booked up for the summer. Go to www.reserveamerica.com and take a look at the following campgrounds:
Carpinteria State Beach
El Capitan State Beach
Refugio State Beach
Each of these campgrounds are near the beautiful Santa Barbara area. They can be reserved starting on the following days:
May (Memorial Day weekend)- November 1
June (can be for July 4 weekend)- December 1
July - January 1
August (for Labor Day weekend) - February 1

Of these, Carpinteria is my fav (and the most popular). It is also site specific. The other two campgrounds are not site specific, except for group sites. You can also call 800-444-7275 for reservations.
