AnswerHi Victor,
Welcome to Los Angeles. The good part about living in Los Angeles is that you don't have to change yourself to "fit in". However, you do have to take charge of your life in order to have an "exciting life" here.
First of all, check your own attitude. Did you come to LA thinking it would be like TV and movies? Well, put that out of your mind right now. It's not like that at all. I've been here all my life, and it's just not like the movies.
The good news is that there are endless opportunities to make friends, have fun, and have an exciting life. Once again, you have to take charge and go out to find them. Now that the rainy season is over, you can get out and do things.
Start at your job. Make friends with the people you work with. Share yourself with your coworkers, and take an interest in them. I have met a lot of friends through my job. If people at your job aren't nice, then find another job.
Do you go to church? Get involved with people there. Offer to help. You will meet a lot of people that way.
What part of LA do you live in? There are plenty of activities in local communities that you can take part in.
Do you have a car? Visit the beach or the mountains! This is the only place I know of where you can ski one day and surf the next. I've done it myself.
What did you like to do in your country? You will find that there are people here from your country here in LA.
With the WIDE variety of people here, you can surely find somebody who shares your interests. But the key is to get up, get out, get involved.
