Question
I'm planning to buy Canon EOS 40D could you please tell me how it is better than Canon Rebel XSi. Please could you justify with facts.

My other question is:
Is Compact Flash Drive which is compatible with Canon EOS 40D better than SD/SDHC drives as i see they are expensive.

Thanks in advance
-Darshan

Answer
Hi Darshan,

The 40D's main advantages over the XSi are that it is more durable (metal body and longer lasting shutter); it shoots at a much faster frame rate (better for action/quick bursts); it has a bigger, clearer viewfinder; and it has a superior autofocus system. Is it worth the extra money? Yes, but only if you need/want those advantages.

Compact Flash (CF) and SDHC cards are now similarly priced. CF cards - expensive ones - have greater speed performance than SDHC cards, but probably nothing you'd notice unless you were doing serious sports/fast-action work. Whichever you go with, spend the extra 10% or so and get a fast card. Sandisk Extreme III are what I recommend.
