Question
I recently just bought a Fujifilm Finepix J150w. I accidentally plugged the camera in to the USB without installing the software beforehand so now when i go to upload pictures it won't let me. The camera wont show up on my computer and it wont let me upload any pictures and im not sure how to fix it. let me know if you can help!

Answer
Anna,

Your question is actually more of a computer and driver question than a photo question.  You may want to check a computer category here on AllExperts.  However, I can give you a work around solution that will let you download.  Get a card reader to use instead of hooking the camera to the computer.  You can get one for about $20 dollars (or less).  You plug it into your USB port...  there is no software to install.  Then put your card in the reader.  It treats you card as if it were a floppy or CD.  Just copy the pictures to any folder you want.

Expertise

I can answer questions about point and shoots and 35mm SLR`s from the 1960s to present. I can also handle most questions on digital cameras from "camera" makers, like Nikon, Olympus, Canon, Sony, etc. Though usually I`m not too familiar with the driver interface, as 3rd party devices for download are more efficient. Sorry, but I can no longer answer questions about the value of old cameras.

I'm an "expert" under photography. I've many years experience in photo retail.John and Chris
