Question
I have a Minolta 35MM Manual Film Advance Camera and I THINK the serial number is 140202 with a Minolta 'A' on the top just in front of where the flash attachment goes. It has a Rokkor 3.5/45 lense on it. It says OPTIPER.MX on the outside edge of the lense. I need to know what the official identification of what Model of Minolta Camera this camera is.

Answer
Without seeing a picture of you camera, it's hard to be sure.  But it sounds like you have a "MINOLTA A", from 1955.  Check out this little history of Minolta page and see if I'm right.

It's not very far down the page.  Don't get it confused with the "model a".

Expertise

I can answer questions about point and shoots and 35mm SLR`s from the 1960s to present. I can also handle most questions on digital cameras from "camera" makers, like Nikon, Olympus, Canon, Sony, etc. Though usually I`m not too familiar with the driver interface, as 3rd party devices for download are more efficient. Sorry, but I can no longer answer questions about the value of old cameras.
