Question
I would like to sell a NIKON EM camera, from the early 70's era (metal body).  Also, a macro focusing F:2.8, 135mm  lens (Makinon), a Series E  35mm f/2.5 Series E wide angle lens, plus two 'filters'?  Have a collector that might be interested but as these are from an estate I have absolutely no idea as to the value.  Would really appreciate your idea of the value.

Thanks!

Answer
Twyla,

Hello and thanks for the question.

The Nikon EM was introduced in 1979 and made through 1982.  It is basically a point and shoot camera with no manual exposure mode.  It was marketed to the then growing market of women photographers who were entering the SLR market.

Your EM is not collectible as it was a lower end camera and was mass produced. It is worth about $25 USD as a user camera.  The Makinon has no real value.  The Series E 35mm is worth worth about $10 USD.  And no real value on the filters.

Expertise

I can answer questions about point and shoots and 35mm SLR`s from the 1960s to present. I can also handle most questions on digital cameras from "camera" makers, like Nikon, Olympus, Canon, Sony, etc. Though usually I`m not too familiar with the driver interface, as 3rd party devices for download are more efficient. Sorry, but I can no longer answer questions about the value of old cameras.
