About John Oliverio
Expertise
I can answer questions about point and shoots and 35mm SLR`s from the 1960s to present. I can also handle most questions on digital cameras from "camera" makers, like Nikon, Olympus, Canon, Sony, etc. Though usually I`m not too familiar with the driver interface, as 3rd party devices for download are more efficient. Sorry, but I can no longer answer questions about the value of old cameras.

Experience
I'm an "expert" under photography. I've many years experience in photo retail.John and Chris

Question
QUESTION: Hi John,
Went to take some photos today & when I turned on my HP digital camera, it read "CARD LOCKED" on the screen.
I put another card in & it worked fine, what's wrong with my orginal card ?
Did I do something dumb ??
Thanks !!

ANSWER: John,

There is a little slide switch on the side of the card.  Just move it forward to unlock it.

QUESTION: Thanks Also John,
That Was Easy, Just Out Of Curiosity, What's The Purpose Of Locking The Card, Is It To Preserve The Old Photos ??

Answer
John,

I think the switch was originally intended for use with MP3 and video players.  So you  don't delete any music by accident.  Mostly the switch is just a pain.  On rare occasions the switch breaks in the locked position, making the card unusable.

Also, Also John as well
