Question
Where I work, we use a Sony Digital 8 Handycam (DCR-TRV320) with a 450XDigital Zoom to take pictures of clients. All of the sudden, the pictures has started being dark.  The camera is plugged into electricity, not run on battery. I use the stick and download pictures to computer and have to manually edit each picture, to lighten. I was wondering if you might be able to tell me if perhaps a button has been pushed by mistake or a setting changed. I would like to be able to use the camera without manually editting each picture.  Thanks for any help.  Donnetta

Answer
Donnetta,

The only setting I can think of that would cause it to be dark is the "exposure" setting.  On the back of the camera on the bottom left hand side, next to the battery and where the strap connects there is a button marked "exposure" or maybe just "exp".  And below that is a wheel. You press the exposure button then adjust the wheel to darken/lighten the picture.

If that doesn't work, it is possibled that the camera is about to die.

Expertise

I can answer questions about point and shoots and 35mm SLR`s from the 1960s to present. I can also handle most questions on digital cameras from "camera" makers, like Nikon, Olympus, Canon, Sony, etc. Though usually I`m not too familiar with the driver interface, as 3rd party devices for download are more efficient. Sorry, but I can no longer answer questions about the value of old cameras.
