Question
Hello,
I purchased a brown/tan Beau Brownie at an estate sale.  The leather strap is
attached along with owners manual.  The manual is in mint condition,
unfortunately someone taped it to the camera.  To remove it would certainly
damage it. The camera itself seems to be in good to very good condition. What
would be a fair price to ask for this camera?  Thanks.

Answer
Kate,

Well, it is very hard to assign values to film cameras these days.  The Beau models were mass produced in the 30's.  Usually this would mean they had no real value.  However you may find a buyer of art deco collectibles who would want it.  The Rose and Green models are kind of rare and may fetch more.  I would assign a value of about $20 USD.  Perhaps $40 for the rare colors.

Expertise

I can answer questions about point and shoots and 35mm SLR`s from the 1960s to present. I can also handle most questions on digital cameras from "camera" makers, like Nikon, Olympus, Canon, Sony, etc. Though usually I`m not too familiar with the driver interface, as 3rd party devices for download are more efficient. Sorry, but I can no longer answer questions about the value of old cameras.
