Question

NA
We suffered a burglary and my Wife's Minolta point and shoot
was stolen. Unfortunately the camera is 15 to 20 years old and I am trying to just identify the model and approximate years of manufacture/availability

Answer
Steve,

Hello.  The picture is pretty small....  But I'm 99% sure it is a Minolta AF Freedom Dual.  This camera was made for several years starting in 1987 with only the name slightly changing.  It was called the AF-DL, the Freedom Dual and the Dual Lens Quartz Date.  Minolta stopped building cameras about 2, maybe 3 years ago and stopped building film cameras way before that.

I found one on eBay for $25 USD.  Here is a link to the eBay auction.

Sorry about the break-in.  That is a big pain in the behind.

Expertise

I can answer questions about point and shoots and 35mm SLR`s from the 1960s to present. I can also handle most questions on digital cameras from "camera" makers, like Nikon, Olympus, Canon, Sony, etc. Though usually I`m not too familiar with the driver interface, as 3rd party devices for download are more efficient. Sorry, but I can no longer answer questions about the value of old cameras.

Experience

I'm an "expert" under photography. I've many years experience in photo retail.John and Chris
