Question
I have a panasonic lumix DMC-fs15, it is brand new but it will have auto date stamp. I means it cannot see date and year on the images when images were downloaded to the computer.

Panasonic support said the version  does not have that featrure. I doubt it since the newer digital camera should have newer feature than the old one.

Are you familair with this model of camera?

Answer
Ginger,

They are right.  It doesn't have a date stamp feature.  That actually isn't a new feature.  It is an old feature and for some reason, very few cameras actually do it anymore.  No idea why they stopped doing it.  Seems silly to me.  The only cameras I can think of that still do it are some of the lower end Canon Powershots.  And they only do it in a low resolution "post card" mode.  The date stamp feature also shows up every couple of years in some Nikons, then they take it off again.  If the date is actually set on your camera, then you can right click a picture and hit "properties" and it will tell you the date.  And when you view the picture files with windows explorer, it will sometimes tell you the date.

Expertise

I can answer questions about point and shoots and 35mm SLR`s from the 1960s to present. I can also handle most questions on digital cameras from "camera" makers, like Nikon, Olympus, Canon, Sony, etc. Though usually I`m not too familiar with the driver interface, as 3rd party devices for download are more efficient. Sorry, but I can no longer answer questions about the value of old cameras.
