Cameras/Olympus firmware update

Question
I have an Olympus SP-570UZ and recently attempted a firmware update. When the update was complete the LCD was to display " OK".
Instead I keep getting "NG" and now all the menu titles just say "NO NAND". Have attempted repeated updates... even on other pc's but to no avail. Any suggestions ?

Answer
Allen,

NAND usually refers to the memory built into the camera.  If there is a re-set somewhere on the camera, you could try that.  It will be a button set in a small hole.  You would have to press it with a paper clip.  If it doesn't have one, you will have to send it to Olympus.  It probably needs the BIOS flashed.

In future, don't install firware updates unless they address something you want to change or improve.

Expertise

I can answer questions about point and shoots and 35mm SLR`s from the 1960s to present. I can also handle most questions on digital cameras from "camera" makers, like Nikon, Olympus, Canon, Sony, etc. Though usually I`m not too familiar with the driver interface, as 3rd party devices for download are more efficient. Sorry, but I can no longer answer questions about the value of old cameras.
