Cameras/Camera not connecting to PC via USB

Question
Hi there.
I have a Fujifilm A350 and when I connect it to the USB port and turn it I then go into a picture editing program however it does not connect to this. It says "could not connect to camera" I am wondering if its a USB issue? How can I solve the mystery why it wont connect?

Several things need to be checked: What other devices work in the same usb, Do you have other usb ports to try, have you updated your Operating System while the camera is plugged in? Do a Custom update not the Express update.
Uninstall the software and reinstall it. If you are in XP or Vista be sure and power down, wait and then power up the PC each step of the way when you uninstall and reinstall. Also try the factory web pages concerning the software and the camera.
