I have a Canon AE1 that I've had for several years and have never had a problem until now. My problem is with advancing a new roll of film. The advance lever (don't know if that is the correct term) will not allow me to set the new film and acts as if film is loaded and is ready to be shot. Does this sound strange? The last time I used the camera I removed the film like every time before, but now it won't let me load a new roll. I would appreciate any advice you can offer.
Thank you very much,
Frank Harris
Answer Thanks for writing! The advance lever will not move, if it has just been advanced, without clicking the shutter again. Unless you can click the shutter and then get the advance lever to move, I'm afraid this sounds like a repair issue and something got stuck. Check with a repair person on this. Write anytime!
