Cameras/Canon rebel xti flash problem

Question
When I push the on-camera Flash popup button I hear three clicks and then an Error 05 code in the top LCD appears. The flash does not pop up as expected.Thanks, Nik
FOUND ON GOOGLE :-)
The problem is not in the hot shoe area but in the locking unlocking mechanism for the pop up flash. Situated on the inside of the top cover which has to come off completely so that you can adjust the position of the unlocking mechanism ( or replace it , but not the entire top cover ).
Camera not releasing the pop up flash and goes into error mode.
