Question
What do you think of It ? I have looked at it in the store, but have not talked to anyone who has used this Camera yet.

Answer
Ed,

Well, I don't personally care much for it.  There isn't really anything wrong with it.  It's just that it is a Rebel, and I don't have much use for a Rebel class camera.

What makes this camera exciting is the price.  It is the first dSLR to come with a lens for $1000.  So if that is all you want to spend, then the Rebel is your camera.

I think you will find that it is made as well as the film Rebels have been in the past.  It is easy to use and the quality of Canons 6.3mp chip is great.  The lens is serviceable but un-exciting.  Over-all it is a good deal.  But it's really built just for the beginner.

Expertise

I can answer questions about point and shoots and 35mm SLR`s from the 1960s to present. I can also handle most questions on digital cameras from "camera" makers, like Nikon, Olympus, Canon, Sony, etc. Though usually I`m not too familiar with the driver interface, as 3rd party devices for download are more efficient. Sorry, but I can no longer answer questions about the value of old cameras.
