Cameras/Nikon D70 Syncs only ONCE

Question
I have a Nikon D70 that syncs shot after shot with my Bowens monolights. Recently I bought a smaller set, Impact 100W and the flash fires only on the frist shot and nothing thereafter. I'm on my third replacement flash and it still does not fire after the first shot.  If I turn off the unit and back on again, then they fire.  I can't figure it out.  Can you help?

Answer
Since you have tried more than one set of lights, I have to assume there is some kind of compatibility issue.   (I assume the Bowens' still work)  There isn't anything on the camera to set wrong.  You may want to contact the maker of the lights to see if they have any ideas.  Sorry.

Expertise

I can answer questions about point and shoots and 35mm SLR`s from the 1960s to present. I can also handle most questions on digital cameras from "camera" makers, like Nikon, Olympus, Canon, Sony, etc. Though usually I`m not too familiar with the driver interface, as 3rd party devices for download are more efficient. Sorry, but I can no longer answer questions about the value of old cameras.
