Cameras/Nikon N70

Question
Hi,
We replaced (insurance replaced after an older model was stolen) and upgraded to a Nikon N70.  We got a few lenses to go with it.  We hadn't used it very much, used it about 1 month after the warrantee was up and got an error message; paid to have it fixed; didn't use it much again for a while; used it about a month after the warantee was up, and got the same error message.  Rather than fix this camera yet again, we are looking to replace it.  Will these lenses fit any other camera bodies or just the N70?  Just Nikon, or any other make?
The problem seems to be in the electronics somewhere.  I would love to get one of the older, manual (no electronics) models if possible.
THANKS!!!
Edith and John (it's his camera) :)

Answer
Edith,
If your lenses were purchased about the same time as your camera, they will fit just about any Nikon ever made.  But only Nikon cameras will work.  Nikon does still make an older style mechanical camera, but it is very expensive.  It's called the Nikon FM3a and usually goes for around $600.  The replacement camera for your N70 is the N80 for 35mm film and the D70 for digital.

Expertise

I can answer questions about point and shoots and 35mm SLR`s from the 1960s to present. I can also handle most questions on digital cameras from "camera" makers, like Nikon, Olympus, Canon, Sony, etc. Though usually I`m not too familiar with the driver interface, as 3rd party devices for download are more efficient. Sorry, but I can no longer answer questions about the value of old cameras.
