Question
QUESTION: Hello, I have been given a Hitachi HDC-751E digital camera which uses USB to transfer the pictures from camera to the computer. System requirement says windows 2000/xp but I have windows ME so the transfer doesn't work ( It nearly works - but just says insert a disk ) Is there any way you know I could get it to work?  Many thanks Stephen

ANSWER: Stephen It is asking for the ME Install disk is my best answer. It needs some files from that disk to allow the transfer. Give me the exact disk name it asks for please.
Let me know.

QUESTION: When you plug the USB cable in it is supposed to create a removable disk icon - which you can access like a floppy. I think this is the disk it is wanting but is obviously not a system disk, it just asks please insert disk and nothing more. it gives no further info, hope you can help!!!
regards Stephen

Answer
If you have the disk in the camera and it is asking for disk, and the disk is not the operating system disk: this leaves the installation of drivers as part of the possible answer. I am going to ask if you have done all of Microsofts updates? Been to the camera manufacturer's website for updates? does the camera work as expected on an xp machine? If so then it is time to update to a newer operating system if possible. Sorry out of ideas at this point without more facts, symptoms or updates from you.
