Question
which digital camera is beter, sony cybershot dsc f828 or canon EOS 20D. please give reasons

Well, given a choice I would choose the 20D. I feel an SLR is a much more flexible machine than a bridge camera. With a 20D I can make it an even better camera by putting a better lens on it. With the Sony, you are stuck with the lens that is on it.
While the Sony reviewed well in its class, it can't compare to a camera in the 20D's class. The Sony has much higher chromatic aberation than the Canon. Very bad in backlit situations or in reflections in bright sunny conditions. And I found the noise (grain) unacceptable at even modest ISO settings.

I can also handle most questions on digital cameras from "camera" makers, like Nikon, Olympus, Canon, Sony, etc. Though usually I`m not too familiar with the driver interface, as 3rd party devices for download are more efficient.
