Cameras/which digital camera?

Question
Dear John, I need to purchase a digital camera. I'm trying to expand a very small, at home craft business, and I realize that getting on the web would greatly improve my chances of this. But I look at the array, and I get so confused. I don't want to make a big mistake, as I don't have a big budget to play with. I have an HP computer system, including printer, should I stick with an HP camera, so that everything is compatable? I need a camera that will be easy for me to upload onto a webpage, I've heard that is one of the most difficult things to do. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Answer
Joyce,

You don't need to buy an HP to maintain compatability.  And the camera itself has nothing to do with uploading to the web.

If all you want is a camera that is going to be used for posting images on the web, you don't really need an expensive camera.  Consider the Nikon Coolpix 3200.  It is easy to use and has a great macro feature for shooting small objects like jewelry and coins.

Expertise

I can answer questions about point and shoots and 35mm SLR`s from the 1960s to present. I can also handle most questions on digital cameras from "camera" makers, like Nikon, Olympus, Canon, Sony, etc. Though usually I`m not too familiar with the driver interface, as 3rd party devices for download are more efficient. Sorry, but I can no longer answer questions about the value of old cameras.
