Question
I have a sony dsc -s 600 digital still camera and uses memory stick pro duo as add on memory.recently I inserted a 512 MB memory stick pro duo but when I connects to the computer the memory detected is only 251 MB and the number of images that can be stored  displayed by camera is nearly half of what actually a 512 MB memory stick can hold.I formatted the memory stick twice but the problem persists .please help.

Answer
A. Ravi,

Try looking at the card with a computer....  use a card reader.  Perhaps the "format" is failing and there are corrupted files on the card.  If that's not it and the format is working, then I would have to say the card is defective.

Expertise

I can answer questions about point and shoots and 35mm SLR`s from the 1960s to present. I can also handle most questions on digital cameras from "camera" makers, like Nikon, Olympus, Canon, Sony, etc. Though usually I`m not too familiar with the driver interface, as 3rd party devices for download are more efficient. Sorry, but I can no longer answer questions about the value of old cameras.
