Question
I am looking to buy a new digital camera. My current camera is a simple HP photosmart and I still have my old Canon EOS 35 mm.Nowadays, I primarily use the dig. camera as I email photos and send them to webpages such as ebay.I need a dig. camera that will allow me some real macro shots of small objects (the jewelry I make for ebay). My HP of course has no manual or autofocus so I cant get in a good clear close shot.I have been looking at cameras online and it is so confusing, I dont need video options, I can use a camcorder for that, zoom is not a priority but I would like a camera that is as close to the versatility as my old Rebel only a digital.I was looking at the fuji line of cameras.Do you have any recommendation?

Answer
Bonnie,

Well, they actually make a digital Rebel.  But I suspect you are actually wanting a point and shoot camera.  If that is the case, and keeping in mind you want a good macro, I'd suggest you try a Nikon.  Something like the CoolPix 3200.

Expertise

I can answer questions about point and shoots and 35mm SLR`s from the 1960s to present. I can also handle most questions on digital cameras from "camera" makers, like Nikon, Olympus, Canon, Sony, etc. Though usually I`m not too familiar with the driver interface, as 3rd party devices for download are more efficient. Sorry, but I can no longer answer questions about the value of old cameras.
