Question
what is a medium format camera and what can it do that my canon rebel can't

Answer
Chad,

Hello. Thanks for the question.

A medium format camera takes advantage of a larger negative.  This means you can get a better enlargement because the image is bigger to begin with.  Also, since the lenses can utilize more glass, they generally have a higher resolving power and can make a sharper image.  As far as camera functions go, a medium format camera can't really do anything your Rebel can't.

Expertise

I can answer questions about point and shoots and 35mm SLR`s from the 1960s to present. I can also handle most questions on digital cameras from "camera" makers, like Nikon, Olympus, Canon, Sony, etc. Though usually I`m not too familiar with the driver interface, as 3rd party devices for download are more efficient. Sorry, but I can no longer answer questions about the value of old cameras.
