Question
John,

I have a Canon PowerShot A310 that drives me crazy.    I hate the shutter delay with this camera!  I have missed more shots because of the delay or slowness of the shutter.  I tried to shoot some fireworks at an international fireworks display last night and none of my shots turned out because of the delay.  Can you give me any tips on how to set this camera so that there isn't a delay?

thanks,
Ron

Ron,

Sorry, but no.  There is nothing set wrong.  That kind of camera simply has a delay.  It's called "shutter lag".  Unfortunately you need a better camera.

Expertise

I can answer questions about point and shoots and 35mm SLR`s from the 1960s to present. I can also handle most questions on digital cameras from "camera" makers, like Nikon, Olympus, Canon, Sony, etc. Though usually I`m not too familiar with the driver interface, as 3rd party devices for download are more efficient. Sorry, but I can no longer answer questions about the value of old cameras.
