Cameras/sony dsc-p51 digital camera

Question
when i turn on camera the lens shutter wont open and lcd screen says turn power off and on again. i have tried doing this repeatedly without success.i have also tried pushing the reset button.can you help me with this problem as the local repair store has estimated their cost to be almost as much as the camera cost.

Sorry Bill. There isn't anything you can do to fix it yourself. Those days are pretty much over. With computerized cameras you need dedicated test equipment and tools to work on them. And you've done the few things I would have suggested. If it's not under warranty, they've got you for a repair bill or the price of a new camera.
