Question
Hi my name is Craig Robins and I would like to know what the different processes that the camera goes through to capture the Imange. I need this answer for my primary research, so please answer back. A.S.A.P I would aso like to know why the camera needs light beams to see an image?

Answer
Mr. Robins,

I'm not sure what you are asking.  You asked "what the different processes that the camera goes through to capture the image (sic)".  I don't know what you mean by "processes".  Mechanically a shutter opens and closes to expose a light sensitive surface....  be it film or digital.  I guess that could be a process.  As for light beams.....  well, come on.  You have to have some kind of emitted radiation to be able to see.  Thats the nature of the human visual system.  It doesn't have to be light, actually.  Side Scan Sonar makes images with sound.  But a regular camera uses light because that is what the human visual system is based on and we want the images created by a camera to look like what we see.

I'm not sure this is helping you.  Perhaps you should re-phrase your question.

One last thing....  about needing answers "A.S.A.P.".  We are all volunteers on this site.  I have a regular job that takes most of my time and sometimes cannot answer questions quickly.  AllExperts generally wants questions answered within 3 days.

Expertise

I can answer questions about point and shoots and 35mm SLR`s from the 1960s to present. I can also handle most questions on digital cameras from "camera" makers, like Nikon, Olympus, Canon, Sony, etc. Though usually I`m not too familiar with the driver interface, as 3rd party devices for download are more efficient. Sorry, but I can no longer answer questions about the value of old cameras.
