Question Hello. My wife has an h1 visa for work. It expires in May but her attorney, paid for by work, says that he will be giving her a letter which states something about the extension of her visa. We will be travelling to Canada from New Jersey where we live. Will the border people let us cross the border with that letter?
Thank you.
Answer Hi there,
This all depends on so many factors. How long have you been back in your home country? Has the company that your wife works for, been included within the extension process? Has the application for extension been submitted?
If none of the above has been done, you can still enter Canada as a visitor for 6 months of course, but if you have just got back to your own country and are returning, it's going to be a little less believable.
