Question
Dear Sir/madam,

We are a family landed in Canada in July 2009 and holders of PRC. Currently we are expecting a baby and would like to have your advise prior to making any plans as we have planning to have the delivery in USA due to much needed family support available in the USA having family members willing to provide the needed support during the delivery of new baby.

Hence if we decide to have the baby in USA, kindly advise how to add the new baby as landed immigrant status, obtain the PRC and Health insurance and what are the requirements to process the above.

Dear Leena,

If your child is born in the USA, you will have to sponsor the child's admission to Canada as a permanent residence. Children born outside Canada to permanent residents do not enjoy any particular status under Canadian law.
