Question
DEAR SIR,

I M FROM BANGLADESH. AI AM INTENDING TO APPLY FOR IMMIGRATION TO
CANADA (ALBERTA) AS A SKILLED TRADE WORKER (ELECTRICIAN- 7241) UNDER
EXPRESS ENTRY VISA PROGRAM.

I GOT MANY INFORMATION ON WEB ABOUT IT. I NEED A JOB OFFER OR
CERTIFICATE OF QUALIFICATION ; TO GET PROVINCE NOMINATION WITH OTHER
REQUIREMENT.

I COMPLETED 3 YEARS FULL TIME DIPLOMA IN ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING COURSE
IN 2001 FROM DHAKA POLYTECHNIC INSTITUTE, BANGLADESH. I HAVE WORKING
EXPERIENCE MORE THAN 6 YEARS IN THIS FIELD.

YESTERDAY I WENT TO AN IMMIGRATION AGENT IN DHAKA TO GET CONSULT ABOUT
ALBERTA NOMINEE PROGRAM.

THEY SAW MY CV AND SAID " YOU HAVE TO AN ONLINE JOURNEYMAN ELECTRICIAN
COURSE OF 10 WEEKS AND IT WILL COST 2000 CAD. AFTER COMPLETION IT YOU
WILL GET A CERTIFICATE AND THEN YOUR JOB IS GRANTED. "

NOW MY QUES IS " IS THERE ANY ONLINE JOURNEYMAN ELECTRICIAN COURSE  TO
ANY INSTITUTE IN ALBERTA ? "

PLZ GIVE ME SOME INFORMATION ABOUT IT

THANKS WITH REGARDS,

MOHAMMAD SADAT RAHMAN

Answer
Dead Mohammad,

Thank you for your very important message.

The first question you must ask your consultant is: is he or she recognized by the Immigration Consultants of Canada Regulatory Council (ICCRC). If not, have nothing to do with the consultant as he or she is operating illegally and not to be trusted (and should be reported to the Canadian authorities).

If your consultant is recognized by the ICCRC his or her name will appear on the ICCRC website. To do a search, go here: http://secure.iccrc-crcic.ca/search-new/EN. Make sure the name and address match and is the same person you are dealing with.

Finally, it is highly unlikely any employer would offer you a job solely on the basis of having obtained a journeyman electrician certificate. Canadian employers do not grant jobs so easily.

If you wish to obtain reliable independent immigration advice, you may wish to contact the following ICCRC recognized consultant:

I hope this will be of some assistance.

Good luck,
