Question I was just observing the Consitution Act and under
Part V, Sec. 41(A), it says that any amendment made under must be authorized by any office of the Queen, the Governor General and the Lieutenant general of the province. Now, I totally agree that we have survived without British dominance and rule for a long time, however, why is this Section still in the Constitution Act of 1982?? Has it been revised since then?
Answer Royal assent to any piece of legislation its strictly a formality. That section is in accordance with the precept that the Queen is also crowned "Queen of Canada." The monarchy is a constituional monarchy meaning that the powers of the monarchy are 99.9% ceremonial, including signing bills into law.
