Same question as other bloggers here, I would like to attend an open tryout for one of the Cfl teams for next years 2012 season. I do not have game tape at this point, played with the Toronto Varsity Blues a number of years ago and would like an oppurtunity at a tryout. The other guy Geoff seems to explained in one of his responses that Cfl teams do not do open try outs to those not invited. Although it seems that you said BC does a few open tryouts here in the states along with Saskatchewan. Toronto would be the closest to me but wiling to tryout for whom ever might have open tryouts. Any advise would be appreciated. Mike

Hi Mike,

Unless things have changed, most CFL teams hold open tryouts in places through out the USA in the spring.  Obviously, they would like to have good quality players and not just any Tom, Dick or Harry show up.  Therefore, I'd suggest you put together a portfolio that includes your vital stats, some testimonials from previous coaches and teammates, video of games, etc. This should set you apart from others and show that you are serious about attending.

Check the various teams' websites starting around January to find out the dates/times for tryouts.
