Subject: BC traffic ticket for Ontario resident

Question
Hi, I got a BC speeding ticket during my trip to Vancouver Island last week. I wanted to know: a)if I pay it, does the BC demerit points go to my Ontario record b) if I dispute it, how would I be able to attend the court c) if I neglect it, is there an agreement or record exchange between BC and ON? Thank you Mark!

Answer
Short answer is yes the demerit points will come onto your Ontario lic from any Province and approx 48 States in the USA.
SO you should make all efforts to fight this ticket if it involves points.
I am not clear on B.C. law as to whether you have to personally show up or simply hire a Lawyer to attend for you.
