Question
QUESTION: I live in a townhouse complex, and I have been parking in the visitors parking area. In this parking area there are signs that state that there shall be no parking between 2am and 7am.  I have parked during these times regardless, and have been ticketed. The parking enforcement company now wants their money for multiple tickets, and have since doubled the fine. They are threatening legal action if I do not pay.

Since this is a private company, and I've parked on private property, can they do this? And if they cannot, is there any documentation that I can present them with?

I appreciate any and all help.

Sincerely,

Greg

ANSWER: If this is a condo and you are an owner then yes they can enforce the tickets.
As to the doubling I believe they cannot enforce that aspect of the ticket.
It is clear from your comments that you knew you could not park there.

QUESTION: Thank you very much for your answer, and in the quickness of your reply. Just another question that you have brought up...I am the son of the owner. Does this make a difference?

Thank you again.

Greg

Answer
The only difference is that your father should have known that you should not be parking in an  area that was restricted.
This does not mean you cannot fight the ticket.
You should get info from he Condo Board as to their arrangements with the Parking Control Company.
