Question
We are the sellers in a real estate deal in British Columbia. In the Contract for Sale and Purchase, the possession date is September 16th but our realtor did not specify the time for possession on that date. Is it automatically 12 noon that we must vacate the home? Thanks very much.
Hi Pat and thank you for your question. My apologies with the delay in responding. In Ontario the deal usually closes sometime mid afternoon, however, the seller has until 6pm to vacate. This is specified within the pre-printed clauses of the agreement of purchase and sale. You should have a similar clause within your contract. I'm sure that if you check with your Realtor they'll be able to clarify for you.
