Question My mom and I were going through some old papers and came along a stock certificate for Kamloops Copper Consolidated LTD. Does anyone have any information about the company? Obviously we want to find out if it's worth anything.
Answer Kelly, it appears from some information on the web that Kamloops amalgamated with Midland Petroleums and Consolidated Prudential Mines in 1972 to form Davenport Oil & Mining. I have actually been asked about Davenport in the past, and this is what I responded:
It appears Davenport had a winding run for awhile, but after undergoing at least one reverse split that ended in 1992 when it was suspended and delisted by the Vancouver Stock Exchange under the name "DVO Industries". British Columbia also hit it with a cease trade order, which remains in effect. That suggests there is no value to the stock, but I suggest you take the certificate to a broker and have them perform a more detailed search, just to be sure.
