Question
We recently found a stock certificate for Bellechasse Mining Corporation Ltd. Countersigned and registered: The Eastern Trust Company, Montreal, Toronto.  This stock certificate is for 100 shares. The date stamped on it is Nov 8 - 1957.
The company was incorporated 1952.  Says there were 3,500.00 shares at $1.00 each. I found it on the Canadian Restricted list for 1957.  Is there any way to find out if there is value to this certificate?

Answer
Linda, besides appearing on the SEC's restricted list, I did see that the Montreal Exchange delisted the stock in 1989 for failure to meet the exchange's listing standards. Since I do not see any relisting anywhere, it appears the stock has no current market. Since Eastern Trust is no longer around, I suggest you should confirm the current status of the stock with a broker and make sure there is no value.
