Expert: Steven Taylor Date: 6/28/2008 Subject: Old stock - locating company
Question On Sept. 17, 1980 I purchased 150 shares of ANCHOR PETROLEUM CORP stock. On July 18, 1983 that company changed it's trading name to LOGO RESOURCES LTD. and under consolidation I received 1 Logo share for every five Anchor shares for a total of 30 shares. Over the years, I moved numerous times and lost track of the certificates and paperwork. I recently located all of the information, but have no idea if the company is still in existence or if it is currently under the same name or another name. How would I go about researching this to see if it has any value left at all. The last information was as follows
LOGO RESOURCES LTD
1500-609 Granville Street
P.O. Box 10364
Stock Eschange Tower
Vancouver, Gritish Columbia V7Y 1G5
Effective May 30, 1983 Anchor Petroleum Corp. commenced trading under a new name,
Logo Resources Std. (V.S.E. symbol LGO)
A.C. Sewell was listed at President
I would appreciate any help you might be able to give me on this company.
Answer Unfortunately, it appears the company is long out of business. In 1988, British Columbia slapped a cease-trade order on the Company and since they were unable to satisfy the regulators and resume trading, the VSE deslited the stock in 1990. The cease-trade order remains in effect to this day, so i think it unlikely that the stock will ever return to trading.
