Question
I have four shares in J. & R. Weir Limited, Incorporated under teh laws of Canada as a Private Company.  Anything you can tell me about it?  Do they exist anymore?  Did they merge, etc.??  Thanks.

Answer
Private companies are always difficult to research, as many do not have established transfer agents to contact, or provide as regular contact and regulatory filings as public companies do. However, in this case, J & R Weir was fairly well-known, and a basic internet search reveals that the Canada Corporations website lists it as dissolved in 2005. Additionally, there are several references to the Company's failure, so the evidence suggests there is likely no value.
