Question
My Dad recently passed on and left quite a collection of Stock Certificates from 1915 - 1937.  There are quite a few, all folded in thirds and for the most part, in excellent condition.  Where do I start to determine their worth?  Would greatly appreciate your input.  Thnx.

Answer
Cheree, considering the age and size of the collection, your best chance for determining value is probably to enlist the help of a broker to help you track down these stocks. However, considering how they were stored and the age, it would be a true longshot if any had value today. After you look them up, though, you might consider any that have no value as stock to have value as collectibles. There is quite an active market in old stock certificates as art. They won't make you rich, but it might provide some value. You can often search for some values on the Internet - just go to a search engine and type in "old stock certificate art" or "scripophily" and look around.
