Question
am in possession of share certificates for both companies dated from 1956 and wondered if they are of any value-thanks

Answer
I have no information at all on Dunnegan, unfortunately. For NewNorth, they did a 1 for 4 reverse and became Canadian NewNorth. Canadian NewNorth was cease-traded in 1990, and I believe those cease-trade orders remain in effect, which suggests there is no current value for the shares.

I suggest you should contact a broker and see if they can perform a more detailed search for you. If they did find current value, they can also assist you in having the certificates reorganized so they can be sold.
