Question
Helping a friend whose father died and came accross 2 stock certs each dated in May of 1984. Transfer agent is The Royal Trust Co. Any help or direction to estabish if they have any current value.

Thank you,
Scott

Answer
Scott, i believe those shares might have some current value. Enexco did a 1 for 5 reverse split and changed its name to International Exexco. That company is still around - it trades on the TSX Venture for about 38 cents per share.

Your friend needs to contact the current transfer agent, Computershare (www.computershare.com). They can determine if the certificates are valid and, if so, can help with getting them reorganized.
