Question
I am in possession of a letter from Guaranty Trust of Canada from 1955 indicating that they are holding in escrow a certificate for 300 shares from Mikanagan Mining Company Limited subject to release pro rata with other shares.
Is there any value in them? Is there a particular search I could make?
Regards,

Margaret

Answer
Unfortunately, from the information I have available, it appears the shares have no value. Mikanagan had its charter cancelled in 1966, which is what happens when a company fails to file its required regulatory and financial information (and pay its fees and taxes) for several years in a row, usually because they are already out of business.
