Answer
From the information I have available:

Trinova merged with 4 other companies into Flying Cross, which later went through a further 2 mergers before becoming Explorers Alliance. Explorers ran into serious financial problems and was delisted and cease-traded in 2002. Those cease-trade orders remain in effect, as it does not seem the company was able to survive its problems.

Chelsea Creek became Thunder Bumpers, which was later cancelled and dissolved. I do not believe there was any value for shareholders.

Hollyhead went through two name changes and became CML Global. CML was taken out in a going private transaction in early 2005. Shareholders received $2.10 per share. If your father did not receive a check in 2005, then the money probably was turned over to the government for safekeeping. You need to search every State or Province in which your father lived from the time he first bought the shares until after the buyout. You can check for free for most States and some Provinces online at www.naupa.org and www.missingmoney.com (check both - they have different participants). Use his name exactly as it appears on the stock certificate, even if it is abbreviated or misspelled, as that is the name that will be in the database.
