Question
I recently found a stock certificate handed down from my Grandfather for 500 shares in Wayside Consolidated Gold Mines Limited issued in Feb 1937 at Vancouver British Columbia Canada. I cannot seem to track down whether or not the company is in fact Wayside Consolidated International or wether the stock is still valid can you help

Answer
Bruce, I don't have any information on what happened to Wayside Consolidated as it is older than most of the information I have available. However, I do not believe it has any relationship to the current International Wayside Gold, as the current company was not incorporated until 1970.

If there is a transfer agent listed on the certificate, you can try to contact them first, but considering the age of the certificate, that is a very long shot. You could try the Province of Incorporation (probably B.C. - should be listed on the certificate) and see what information they have available. Or, contact a broker and see if they can perform a more detailed search for you.
