Question
I found a stock certificate for a 100 shares in the Sullivan Consolidated Mines, Limited dated July 1955. The Eastern Trust Company was the transfer agent and registrar.  Is this stock worth anything?

Answer
Buddy, from the information I have available, it appears that company was acquired over 20 years ago. Sullivan Consolidated went through several amalgamations before becoming Sullivan Mines Inc. That company was acquired by Cambior in 1987 for one share of preferred stock for each common share of Sullivan. The preferred stock was subsequently redeemed for $7.50 cash per share.

If you never received the cash, you need to search for the money. It would have been turned over to the last state or province in which the transfer agent had as your residence. You can search most States and some Provinces for free at www.naupa.org and www.missingmoney.com.
