Question
Mr.Steven Taylor:
I have three different stock certificates from my passing father. Please help me to find out if they exist today, and how much they are worth.
1. (TIB EXPLORATION LIMITED) 1000 shares. Date on certificate is, Dec-2 1958.
2. (VISCOUNT OIL AND GAS LTD. 300 shares. Date on certificate is, Sep-10 1958.
3. (AUGDOME EXPLORATION LIMITED). 100 shares. Date on certificate is, Dec-4 1959.
I would like to have a response from you. Thank you very much. (Gary)

Answer
From the information I have available;

Tib had its charter cancelled in 1974, and there was no value for shareholders.

Viscount was acquired by Bison Petroleum on the basis of 1 Bison for every 9 Viscount. Bison became United Bison, which became Nalcap Holdings on the basis of 1 new for 7.7 old.  Arbatax became MFC Bancorp, which is now KHD Humboldt Wedag International. KHD is traded on the New York Stock Exchange for about $12.75 a share.

I suggest you contact KHD's transfer agent directly, as they can help you reorganize the shares. You can find that information on KHD's website, http://www.khdhumboldt.com

I have been asked about Augdome many times. The Company changed its name from Augdome Exploration to Augdome Corporation. The Company delisted from the Vancouver Stock Exchange in 1984, and from then on traded over-the-counter before seeming to disappear about 1990. They were slapped with a cease-trade order by Ontario in 1992, and since that order remains in effect to this day, it suggests there is no current trading market for the stock.

If there is a transfer agent listed on the certificate, I would contact them first. You could also contact the Province of Incorporation and see what information they have available. Finally, you could take the certificate to a broker and see if they are able to uncover any additional information about the company.
