Have certificate of deceased relative purchased in 1982, company is called National Petroleum Corporation Limited, can not find stock , does the company still exsits, has it merged with another company , is it worth anything now

From the information I have available, the company was delisted by the Vancouver Stock Exchange in 1995 after having been suspended for a year. The stock was cease traded in Ontario in 1996, and since that cease trade order remains in effect, it suggests the company never fixed its problems and returned to trading.
