Canadian Stocks/stock certificate question

Question
I found two stock certificates for North American Rare Metals Limited, one from 1959 and the other 1960,  both were from Guaranty Trust Co.  I assume they're worthless but I wanted to check before I pitched them.

Answer
Robert, from the information I have available, it appears there might be some current value to those old certificates.

North American did a merger into Sunstate International. Shareholders of North American received 1 Sunstate share and 1 share of NAR Resources for every 10 North American shares held. The Sunstate portion appears to have no current value - it later became Hyberlab Teknologies, which was suspended, delisted and cease-traded in 1999. Those cease-trade orders remain in effect, which suggests it was never revived. The NAR shares, however, might have the value today. They later did a merger into Titanium Corp (I don't have the merger ratio info#, which is still around. It trades for about 50 cents per share on the TSX. You need to contact Titanium's transfer agent, Equity Transfer #www.equitytransfer.com) to confirm the information, validate your old shares, and get them reorganized into the new shares.
